In springtime, Maryland is awash in color as migratory birds arrive and flowers bloom. We’ll take a leisurely stroll on the C&O, keeping watchful eyes for birds on the water and in the trees. We may see the colorful wood ducks which often arrive in April to nest on the stream banks, while warblers flit in the trees. All along the woodland floor and pathways, flowers in blues and pinks, violet and white are blooming. We’ll provide transportation to the C&O in nearby Washington County using an FCC van. Be prepared for some moderate walking (up to 2 miles).
Note: Be sure to dress for the weather. The trip will include moderate walking along an even trail. Lunch is on your own at Bonnie’s Country Kitchen or you may bring a brown bag lunch. Please note, no refunds after close of business on April 16, 2020.
